Christian Nuehlen Mr. Christian Nuehlen currently serves as Managing Director-Europe for Morten Beyer & Agnew’s (mba) office in Frankfurt, Germany. Since May 2007 he represents mba in Frankfurt and is responsible for the marketing of mba’s spectrum of services and general consulting work in Europe. He is a lawyer by training with extensive hands-on experience in aircraft financing and contract negotiations with aviation financing institutions and manufacturers. He led numerous aircraft acquisition projects for airlines and has dealt extensively with aircraft suppliers, such as leasing companies and manufacturers. He has hands-on practical understanding of manufacturers’ aircraft placement processes and motivations. Prior to his engagement with mba, Mr. Nuehlen was a member of the management board and general counsel of XL Airways Germany. Before the formation of XL Airways Germany, Mr. Nuehlen spearheaded a management team at Aero Flight German Airlines in its re-organization efforts, which ultimately led to an investment by the Avion Group and the formation of XL Airways Germany. For Aero Flight, Mr. Nuehlen acted as General Counsel and chief legal advisor to the CEO. During his time with Aero Lloyd German Airlines, Mr. Nuehlen managed the airline’s fleet and supervised its seasonal lease-out contract in the United States. He also served as manager of governmental affairs. Mr. Nuehlen received a law degree from the University of Münster, Germany, and a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Providence College, USA. Mr. Nuehlen is a member of the German-American Lawyers Association, has published numerous works in industry publications, and frequently speaks at international aviation conferences. Mr. Nuehlen has been actively involved in the formation of a German start-up carrier and has been engaged in a number of due diligence projects in regard to airlines and aircraft manufacturers. e-mail: cnuehlen@mba.aero
