WASHINGTON, DC (August 21, 2001): Morten Beyer & Agnew (MBA) the international aviation consulting firm announces the appointment of L. Nick Lacey, as Executive Vice President at MBA Headquarters in Washington D.C..
Lacey joins MBA after serving as the Director of Flight Standards for the FAA, where he has been since January of 1999. Nick has been instrumental in developing and enforcing the operational and safety standards for the U.S. commercial aviation industry, as well as providing leadership in national aviation safety enhancement programs.
Prior to his appointment to the FAA, Lacey was President of his own consulting firm Lacey, LLc, where he provided consultation on airline business plans and certification, airline privatization and acquisition and defense contracting. Lacey has had an extensive career in commercial aviation, including Vice President of Operations at Tower Air, an International Airline.
Lacey retired from the Air Force at the rank of Colonel having held the positions such as: Program Manager of the DoD Air Carrier Survey and Analysis Division, and a Commander in the 89th Airlift Wing assigned to carry the President and Congress. He also served as a staff member on the Presidential Airline Commission.
Lacey earned his BS at Wagner College in New York, and his MBA at the University of Puget Sound. Nick Lacey is a licensed Air Transport Pilot and a USAF Flight Examiner, Flight & Simulator Instructor.
