MBA Completes Safety Audit of Miami International Airlines

WASHINGTON, DC (October 01, 2003): MORTEN BEYER & AGNEW INC. an Arlington Virginia based aviation consultancy, has just completed a safety evaluation of Miami International Airlines. The audit was performed at the request of Ross Fischer, CEO/President of Miami International Airlines.

"Safety is Miami International’s top priority," said Fischer. " It has been my practice to schedule independent reviews of our safety and regulatory compliance programs on a regular basis. I seek experienced consultants that will give my airline a rigorous review. This is the only way I can be sure we can achieve our ambitious safety objectives.” Miami International Airlines operates B737-800 and B727 passenger aircraft on charter flights throughout the world.

Morten Beyer & Agnew, Andrew Stein, Vice President, said, “Miami International asked us to review their operational training and maintenance programs. We did a comprehensive compliance assessment of these critical functions. The combination of FAA Oversight and independent safety audits provides top management with the assurance they need that their programs are working. Miami’s approach should provide the traveling public and company board of directors with a high level of confidence in the Safety of the airline.”

Under Miami International’s Safety Program, the audit team will make a second visit to review the improvements made to Miami’s safety programs as a result of the first evaluation. The FAA encourages airlines to develop a thorough evaluation programs.
